Engineering Recruitment & Labour Hire

Contract and permanent engineers for mining, infrastructure and industry
For projects in WA, Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and the NT

Engineering Talent for Projects and Operations

Wolfpack Hire finds mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and mining engineers, along with project engineers, drafters and technical specialists, for clients across Australia. Bring an engineer in on contract to get a project over the line, or let our recruitment team fill a permanent role in your engineering team. Either way, your dedicated relationship manager runs the search from the first brief to the start date.

How an Engineering Search Runs

  1. Brief. Tell us the discipline and level, the project or plant, whether the role is contract or permanent, the location and roster, and your preferred start date.

  2. Search. We draw on our own candidate network as well as active job seekers, and speak with each engineer about the role before putting them forward.

  3. Check. Degrees, registrations where the state requires them, employment history and references are confirmed before a resume reaches you.

  4. Interview. You meet a short list of engineers who match the brief, with interviews booked around your diary.

  5. Start. We manage the offer, contract and onboarding, then keep in touch through the first weeks and beyond.

Where We Place Engineers

Engineers on FIFO rosters at remote mines, DIDO to regional projects, or based in city offices and plants.

Western Australia

The Pilbara's iron ore operations, Goldfields gold mines, lithium mines and refineries between Greenbushes and Kwinana, LNG and gas processing on the North West Shelf, plus road, rail and building projects across Perth.

Queensland

Licensed for labour hire in Queensland, we place engineers on Bowen Basin coal mines, Surat Basin gas projects and mines around Mount Isa, as well as transport and venue projects ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and the Territory

Transport, water and energy infrastructure around Melbourne and Sydney, mining and mineral processing in regional New South Wales, hydro and industrial plants in Tasmania, and gas, mining and infrastructure work across the Northern Territory.

Qualified, Registered and Ready

Engineering degrees and qualifications sighted

Registration checked where the state requires it, such as RPEQ in Queensland

Work rights confirmed through VEVO

Employment history and references checked with past managers

Engineering Recruitment FAQs

Do you supply contract engineers as well as permanent hires?

Yes. Contract engineers are placed through labour hire, so we employ them and run payroll while they work on your project. Permanent engineers join your payroll from day one. Temp to perm: 'try before you buy' - start an engineer on contract, and if they suit, make the role permanent.

What levels of engineer can you find?

Graduates through to senior, lead and principal engineers, plus engineering managers. Tell us the experience and responsibility the role carries and we'll pitch the search at that level.

Do your engineers hold state registration?

Where the work calls for it, yes. Queensland requires RPEQ registration for professional engineering services, and Victoria requires registration in five prescribed areas, including civil, structural, electrical and mechanical. We check each candidate's registration against the work your project involves.

Can you supply drafters and technical staff too?

Yes. Alongside engineers, we place drafters, designers, planners, estimators, document controllers and QA/QC inspectors to round out a project team.

Can you place engineers on FIFO rosters?

Yes. Plenty of engineering roles sit on FIFO or DIDO rosters at mine sites and remote projects. We organise medicals and site inductions to fit your onboarding process.

How quickly can you find an engineer?

It depends on the discipline and level. Contract roles are often filled sooner than permanent ones because many contract engineers can start at short notice. We'll set a realistic time frame with you when we take the brief, and our team works 7 days a week to keep the search moving.
