Skilled Trades for Mining and Resources

Wolfpack Hire supplies skilled tradespeople to the mining and resources sector throughout Australia. Our team works out of Wangara in Perth's north, and we take care of the checks that usually hold up a mine start: medicals, tickets, inductions, right-to-work and pay. You get people who clear site entry and get on the tools fast.

From First Call to First Swing

  1. Brief us. Give us the roles, numbers, roster, site and start date, plus the site's entry rules. The more detail you give us, the quicker the shortlist is formed.

  2. Shortlist. We send you candidates who already meet those requirements, with their tickets, licences and mining experience checked.

  3. Site entry. We can organise pre-employment medicals, drug and alcohol tests and support any inductions that need to be completed before travel.

  4. Mobilisation. We work with your mobilisation crew to confirm flights, pick-up points and camp details with each worker before they fly.

  5. On the roster. Your relationship manager stays in touch through each swing and looks after timesheets, pay and any changes to the crew.

Mining Labour Hire FAQs

How long does it take to get workers to site?

It depends on the site's entry steps more than on finding the right people. Medicals, inductions and flight schedules all add time. For a standard FIFO trade role we usually mobilise within 7 days. You'll get a realistic start date during our first conversation.

Can we staff a shutdown?

Yes. Send us the scope, dates and headcount as early as you can, and we'll build the crew: electricians, fitters, riggers, welders, operators, trades assistants and supervisors. We also line up standby workers in case someone drops out before flying.

Who organises flights and camp?

Most sites book flights and rooms through their own travel system. We send your travel team the names and details it needs, confirm pick-up points with each worker and make sure everyone knows where to be and when.

Does Same Job, Same Pay change what we'll pay?

It might. Since 1 November 2024, labour hire workers covered by a Fair Work Commission order must be paid at least the host's own rate for the same work. Orders generally don't apply to placements of three months or less, and small business hosts are excluded. If an order covers your site, we'll quote on the host's rate from the start, so the invoice holds no surprises.

Can you supply Queensland mine sites?

Yes. Queensland requires labour hire providers to hold a licence, and businesses that use an unlicensed provider can be penalised. Our licence number is LHL-08494-T0K1G, and you can check it on the Queensland licence register.

Do you recruit permanent mining staff as well?

Yes. For permanent supervisors, engineers, planners and other site roles, our recruitment team runs the search and screening for you. See our recruitment services.

Tell Us What Your Site Needs

Send us the roles, roster and start date. Expect a call within three hours, 7 days a week, with a plan and the people who are ready to start.
