Shutdown Labour Hire

Ticketed crews for planned shutdowns, outages and turnarounds
Crews for sites in WA, QLD, NSW, VIC, NT and Tasmania

Shutdown Crews Built Around Your Window

When a plant comes offline for maintenance, the window is fixed and every shift counts. Wolfpack Hire supplies electrical and mechanical trades, operators, riggers, plumbers and access crews for planned shutdowns, maintenance outages and turnarounds at mine sites, processing plants, refineries, power stations and ports. Give us the work scope, the dates and the numbers, and we'll have tickets, medicals and inductions sorted before the first shift starts.

A shutdown is one part of a site’s life, alongside the original build and the routine maintenance that keeps it running. If you need labour between campaigns as well, the same crew can cover that work too.

How We Crew a Shutdown

  1. Plan. Share the work scope, shutdown dates, shift pattern and trades as soon as they're known. Early notice lets us lock in the people you want before other sites book them.

  2. Source. We start with people who already know your site or your type of plant, then widen the search for harder-to-find tickets and specialist trades.

  3. Check. Trade papers, high risk work licences, confined space and heights tickets, and medicals are confirmed against your site's entry rules before anyone is booked.

  4. Mobilise. Inductions, medicals and rosters are locked in, and every worker gets clear start details, shift times and a site contact.

  5. Run. Your relationship manager stays on call for the whole shutdown, manages timesheets and replaces anyone who drops out. When the next one comes around, we can book the same crew again.

Shutdown Labour Hire FAQs

How much notice do you need for a shutdown crew?

The more the better. For a large planned shutdown, sending the scope a few weeks out gives us time to secure preferred workers and book medicals and inductions. Smaller crews and short term cover can often be arranged at shorter notice, depending on the tickets and site entry steps involved.

Can you supply night shift?

Yes. We crew day and night shifts and can set up a roster that hands over cleanly between the two, with a supervisor or leading hand on each.

Do you provide shutdown supervisors?

Yes. We place supervisors and leading hands on shutdown shifts, and our recruitment team can find planners, schedulers and maintenance superintendents for longer-term roles.

What tickets do shutdown workers usually need?

It depends on the scope. Common ones are a white card, confined space entry, working at heights, gas testing and EWP, plus HRW licences for rigging, dogging, scaffolding, crane and forklift work. Send us your site's list and we'll check each person against it.

Can we have the same crew back for the next shutdown?

Where the workers are available, yes. Tell us who you'd like back and we'll contact them as soon as the next dates are set.

Who employs the workers during the shutdown?

We do. Wolfpack Hire pays wages and super, covers LSL, insurance and payroll tax, and manages timesheets, while your team directs the work on site.

Which regions do your shutdown crews cover?

We crew outages from Kwinana, Port Hedland and the Goldfields in WA to Gladstone and Mackay in Queensland, as well as Newcastle in New South Wales, Geelong in Victoria, Darwin in the Territory and Bell Bay in Tasmania.
