Labour Hire for Fly-In Fly-Out Sites

We staff FIFO rosters for mining operations, shutdowns and maintenance campaigns, solar, wind and power projects and civil and construction builds in remote parts of Australia.
In WA, crews usually fly out of Perth to sites in the Pilbara, the Goldfields and the Mid West. Queensland and Northern Territory sites tend to use Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns or Darwin as their point of hire, and we recruit to whichever one your site uses.
Perth Airport carried a record 6.4 million regional passengers in 2025, and the resources sector is still a key driver of that traffic. Behind each of those seats is a roster someone has to fill.

Labour Hire or Direct FIFO Hires
Some roles suit labour hire, such as a crew that grows and shrinks with the work, or cover while your own people are on leave. Others are long-term positions you'd rather fill with your own employee.
We handle both, and we'll tell you plainly which one fits the role.
Charge rates for labour hire are fixed in writing ahead of the first fly-out.

FIFO Labour Hire Crews
Workers stay on our payroll for as long as they're on your roster, from a single shutdown swing to years on a maintenance crew.
On even-time rosters such as 7/7 or 14/14, we can pair back-to-back workers so the role is covered on every day of the cycle.
If a worker finishes up or can't make the flight, we put forward a replacement and aim to have them ready for the next swing.

FIFO Recruitment
For permanent positions on a FIFO roster, from maintenance planners and supervisors to superintendents, our recruitment team takes on the search.
We advertise, screen and check references, and we confirm each candidate understands the roster and the time away before they reach your shortlist.
You interview, you choose, and the person joins your payroll.
FIFO Crews for Every Stage of a Site
A mine site typically moves through four stages: construction, day-to-day operation and maintenance, shutdowns for major overhauls, and finally decommissioning. Most of our FIFO work sits in the first three, so the crew that builds a plant can stay on to maintain it and return for each shutdown.
Remote solar farms, gas plants and power stations follow the same pattern. When Northern Star added a solar farm at its Jundee gold mine, we mobilised a 35-person crew of electricians, fitters, boilermakers, operators and TAs in 10 days. They worked 2/1 swings for about 12 months, and the farm was completed on schedule. Read about the Jundee project.

Why Sites Trust Wolfpack Hire with FIFO Crews
One relationship manager at our Wangara office looks after your FIFO account, whether the crew flies to the Pilbara, the Bowen Basin or the Top End, and we answer the phone on weekends.
WA's code of practice on mentally healthy FIFO workplaces expects employers to identify and manage psychosocial hazards. As the employer of each person we supply, we take that seriously and work through it with your site team.
Workers Who Know the Lifestyle
Long shifts, camp life and weeks away from home don't suit everyone. We favour people who have worked away before, or who know exactly what they're signing up for, because that keeps a crew stable.

Swing Cover When Plans Change
Sick days, family emergencies and resignations don't wait for a roster change. Ring us and we'll start on a replacement straight away, weekends included.

Clear Travel Briefings
Before each swing, we confirm the flight, check-in time and first shift with every worker, so nobody misses the plane over a mix-up.

FIFO Labour Hire FAQs
What does a FIFO labour hire company do?
It finds, screens and employs workers for your remote roster, then places them on your site until the work is done. We handle their wages, payroll tax, super, LSL and insurance, and your supervisors direct them day to day.
Which FIFO rosters can you staff?
Any roster your site runs. Common ones include 8/6, 2/1 and 3/1, as well as even-time swings such as 7/7 or 14/14, on day shift, night shift or a mix of both.
Who books flights and camp accommodation?
That's done by your site or travel provider. We pass on each worker's details so they can make the bookings.
How quickly can you mobilise a FIFO crew?
A single trade role is usually filled within a week. Larger crews depend on headcount, tickets, and how long site medicals and inductions take.
Do you supply FIFO workers in Queensland?
Yes, under our Queensland licence, LHL-08494-T0K1G. Queensland law stops large resource projects near regional towns from using a 100% FIFO workforce, so we can also find workers who live locally.
Do you supply FIFO shutdown crews?
Yes. Shutdown crews usually fly in for one campaign, work long days until the plant is back online, then fly home. Tell us what's being overhauled, which trades you need and when the plant comes offline, and we'll also keep standby names ready in case the dates move. More on our shutdown labour hire page.
