Pilbara Labour Hire

Crews for Karratha, Port Hedland, Newman and the Iron Ore Mines

Name the site, the swing and the start date. We'll put forward the right skilled tradespeople, operators and labourers, sort their medicals, and give your travel desk each worker's details so flights and camp can be booked.

Labour Hire Built Around Pilbara Rosters

Wolfpack Hire supplies mining crews, construction and civil workers, electricians, welders and boilermakers and shutdown teams to sites right across the Pilbara.

Most Pilbara jobs are staffed out of Perth, on swings such as 8/6, 2/1 or 3/1. Some mines fly crews straight to their own airstrip; others use Karratha, Port Hedland, Newman or Paraburdoo airports. We fit the roster your site already runs.

We cover Karratha, Dampier, Wickham and Roebourne in the west, Port Hedland and South Hedland on the coast, Newman, Paraburdoo, Tom Price and Pannawonica inland, plus Onslow and Marble Bar. For the Goldfields, Mid West or South West, see Regional WA.

Ports, Gas and Processing on the Coast

The coast is where the region's ore, gas and salt leave the country, so port, rail and plant maintenance runs all year round.

Short term cover fills the gap when someone's on R&R or a crew member drops out mid-swing. Project crews can remain until handover and into the maintenance phase.

Charge rates and travel costs are agreed in writing first, so the invoice matches what you approved.

Labour Hire in Karratha and the Burrup

Karratha is the service town for the gas plants on the Burrup Peninsula, including the second LNG train at Pluto, built to process gas from the offshore Scarborough field, and for the iron ore ports at Dampier and Cape Lambert.

We supply fitters, electricians, riggers and scaffolders for plant maintenance and turnarounds, and labourers and operators for construction work around town.

Labour Hire in Port Hedland and South Hedland

Port Hedland handled 580 million tonnes of cargo in 2025-26, more than any other Pilbara port, most of it iron ore railed in from the mines.

Pilbara Ports is adding two multi-user berths at Lumsden Point for critical minerals exports and imports of renewable energy equipment.

We place operators, riggers, dogmen and trade assistants for port, rail and stockyard work.

Iron Ore, Lithium and Solar Inland

Around Newman, Paraburdoo and Tom Price sit some of the world's biggest iron ore mines, and new replacement mines are being built to keep them producing. The largest, about 60 km from Tom Price, is due to deliver it's first ore in 2027.

Lithium is growing again too. The Pilgangoora mine, 140 km south-east of Port Hedland, has approved an expansion expected to need about 1,000 construction workers. And a 690 MW solar farm is going up 120 km south of Port Hedland to power iron ore operations.

Why Pilbara Sites Work With Wolfpack Hire

We've worked in the region before. For ATCO Australia, our team of electricians and TAs built and tested solar and battery systems in Perth before they went to a Pilbara mine site, and the job was finished on time.

WA has no labour hire licensing, but we hold Victorian (VICLHL10377) and Queensland (LHL-08494-T0K1G) licences, and you can look up both on the public registers.

Ready Before Wheels Up

We sort medicals, D&A results, inductions, visas and HRW tickets before travel day, and we brief every worker on their travel details and start time.

Pilbara Labour Hire FAQs

When can workers be on a Pilbara site?

That turns on the trade, the tickets and your site's induction process. Send us the roles and start dates; we'll come back with who's available and the earliest day they can fly.

Do you book flights and camp accommodation?

No, your site or its travel desk books those. We send through the details for each worker, then confirm their flight time, pick-up point and first shift with them before they leave Perth.

Which trades do you supply in the Pilbara?

Fitters, electricians, boilermakers, welders, riggers, dogmen, scaffolders, plant operators, trade assistants and labourers, plus supervisors and engineers for project work.

What checks happen before a worker flies in?

We check work rights, trade certificates and HRW licences, and arrange the pre-start medical and drug and alcohol test your site requires. Jobs inside a port security zone also need a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC), so tell us early.

Do you supply shutdown crews in Port Hedland or Dampier?

Yes. Port, rail and processing plant shutdowns are common in the Pilbara. Give us the scope and dates, and we'll tell you who we can send and when. If the dates move, we answer the phone 7 days a week.

What does Pilbara labour hire cost?

The charge rate is set by the role, its award or agreement, the roster and travel. Everything goes in a written quote before anyone mobilises.
